Specialist Cardiologist & Electrophysiologist
Dr Tuan Le Nguyen is a specialist Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist based in South Western Sydney. He has clinical expertise general cardiology and subspecialty expertise in cardiac electrophysiology including catheter ablation, pacemakers, defibrillators, cardiac rhythm monitoring and cardiovascular imaging including echocardiography, and cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
Dr Nguyen completed his undergraduate Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery studies at the University of Tasmania with First Class Honours. He undertook General Cardiology training at Liverpool/Campbelltown hospitals and subsequent subspecialty clinical fellowship in cardiac electrophysiology and pacing.
Dr Nguyen also has completed an overseas fellowship in clinical cardiac electrophysiology and pacing at the University of Western Ontario, London Health Sciences Centre in London, Ontario, Canada. He has gained extensive knowledge and skills in rhythm diagnosis/management, particularly in management of atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, supraventricular tachycardias, ventricular tachycardia, and device therapies including pacemaker (including leadless pacemaker), defibrillator and cardiac resynchronisation therapy (biventricular) device implantations.
Dr Nguyen completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) at the University of New South Wales, with his thesis entitled “Multi-parametric risk stratification after acute ST elevation myocardial infarction”. Dr Nguyen has numerous research publications in national and international peer reviewed journals. He has presented at both national and international meetings and is a conjoint lecturer at the University of New South Wales.
Dr Tuan Le Nguyen has significant experience in the areas of clinical cardiology, electrophysiology, device therapy and advanced cardiovascular imaging. He has expertise in implanting a wide range of cardiac devices including pacemakers, defibrillators (ICDs), cardiac resynchronisation therapy, loop recorders and subcutaneous ICDs.
Dr Nguyen also specialises in post heart attack care and risk stratification, and has clinical proficiency in electrocardiogram recordings, transthoracic echocardiography, stress echocardiography, Holter & event monitoring, and cardiac MRI.
